It’s been a few weeks since I’ve last written a Fun Facts Friday post, so I’m excited to get to do it today.

Kleenex cough drops May 22 2015

If you follow me on Instagram (fiona4343) you’ll know that I came back from vacation with a cold. My last day there I woke up with a scratchy throat, and since then it’s morphed into full out sore throat, coughing, sneezing, runny nose, and sinus congestion. Not. Fun. But I’m also extremely thankful that I’m sick this week and not last week when I was in Vancouver. I blame getting sick on the guy sitting behind me on the flight to Vancouver. He was coughing the entire time, and unfortunately on a plane you can’t really get away from it.

Salad May 22 2015

I’ve been craving veggies like crazy since I got home on Saturday. It’s tough to get enough veggies in while you’re travelling and eating every meal at restaurants, but I’ve been making up for it since. Yesterday for lunch I had a salad of spinach, cherry tomatoes, avocado, leftover sauteed chicken, and thousand island salad dressing. It was really good and just what I needed.

At the U2 concert they performed Every Breaking Wave from their newest album, Innocence and Experience. Their live version is quite different from the one they recorded on the album. I think the live version is awesome. You know you’re a good band when you don’t need a lot of other stuff (lights, back up dancers, pyrotechnics) going on for people to enjoy your music. Whenever I listen to it on YouTube it gives me goosebumps. It really showcases Bono’s voice.

Tonight I’m headed to an Etsy Made in Canada Day event. This is an info night, so I’ll be getting all the details on when the Made in Canada day market happens in September. I wasn’t able to attend this past September, but I’m looking forward to going this year. Just like with Market Collective, I’m all about supporting local artists and small businesses.

Word Camp YYC June 14 2014 (1)

Tomorrow I’m headed to Word Camp YYC! This will be my second year going so I know I’m in for a day of learning all kinds of cool things about WordPress as well as meeting some great people. If you live in or near a largish city you can check out WordCamp Central to see if there’s one happening near you. I’d totally recommend checking it out if you have a blog or website on WordPress. There’s so many knowledgeable people who are more than willing to answer questions or help you out. Blogging can be a pretty solitary thing for me, so I’m always up for getting to meet other bloggers.

Leave me a comment with something that you’re looking forward to this weekend.
