I have a feeling there’s going to be a lot of Easter candy eating happening over the next few weeks. Wednesday I ate my Cadbury Creme Egg. It’s been driving me crazy, knowing it’s there just waiting for me to eat it. They changed the packaging this year. I wonder if it’s just in Canada or all over. I kind of like this plastic instead of the foil because no matter how careful you are when you peel the foil off, there’s always some foil that sticks to the chocolate (or filling that leaks out) which takes forever to get off.
Speaking of Easter, we got some beautiful flowers for the table. The best part about them is that they’re potted, not cut, so I’ll be planting them in the garden once it gets warm enough and the danger of frost passes. The flowers are so big and pretty, they make me smile whenever I walk past them.
A couple weekends ago I discovered a delicious new to me beer – green apple pilsener by Nickel Brook. At first I wasn’t sure if I’d like it, but it ended up being pretty good. It’s more beer and less cider tasting. It’s an interesting combination. I’d definitely get it again. Nickel Brook is a brewery out of Ontario, so it’s always fun to find another Canadian beer that I enjoy.
I stocked up on some more curry while I was at the farmer’s market last time. It has big chunks of veggies in it (zucchini, cauliflower, bell pepper and peas), which makes it extra delicious. It comes frozen so I just heat it up and add it to a bed of brown rice. It’s super easy to make it after I get home from work.
What’s the last great beer you had?
Never heard of the beer before but it sounds right up my alley! A brewery near us makes a killer blackberry beer and it’s one of my favorite beverages. I wonder if I can get that Green Apple beer in California?
Blackberry beer sounds utterly amazing!
