WIAW 2015

As usual, thanks to Jen at Peas and Crayons for hosting What I Ate Wednesday.

WIAW Breakfast February 18 2015

Breakfast was my usual combination of cereal, fruit, and yogurt. This time the cereal was Oatmeal Crisp, an orange, and cherry yogurt. I’ve really been enjoying the Oatmeal Crisp lately. I think I’ve had it just about every day for a couple weeks now.

WIAW Lunch February 18 2015

I have Thai vegetable curry leftovers for lunch. Seriously, I don’t know what I would do without leftovers. Sometimes you just need something quick and easy when you get home from work. It had big pieces of cauliflower, potato, bamboo, zucchini, and peas. My favourite part is when the rice soaks up the liquids and adds flavour to it. I buy this at the farmer’s market and the guy who sells it officially remembers me now. I know he must be happy to have a regular customer, but it’s kind of embarrassing. It makes me think of that scene in Sex and the City when Miranda calls to order Chinese delivery, and the lady who answers the phone remembers her order and Miranda looks mortified.

WIAW Dinner February 18 2015

Dinner was butter chicken. Butter chicken has to be one of my favourite Indian dishes, it’s just so tasty. I tried a different rice than I usually make, so I wasn’t sure how I’d like it. It turned out really good, and I’d definitely eat it again. Unfortunately I wasn’t as impressed with the butter chicken. I felt like it was missing something. I can’t quite put my finger on it, but I think it was missing that creamy texture that I’m used to. It was definitely still edible, I’m just not sure if I would use the same recipe again.

Now that you know what I ate, leave me a comment telling me about your favourite Thai or Indian foods.

I am eating tons of veggies the past two weeks. More than normal in fact. I have also been craving some spicy {not mexican food} but more like thai spicy. :) Happy Wednesday Fiona

I could never quite get past the texture of yogurt so maybe if I added some granola or the cereal mix, it would help! And I love, love, love butter chicken also! I can’t ever get enough!

Butter chicken has to be one of my favorites, but there’s so many when it comes to Indian food (samosas, poppadoms)

I’ve never really tried Indian or Thai food! But that looks seriously yummy! Around here it’s all about New Mexican food, mostly a lot of red or green chile!

I’d love to make a trip to the SW US and take advantage of the delicious food. The most furthest south I’ve been is to northern California to visit family. I’m sure I’ll get there one day. Being Canadian I’d also love to take advantage on the warmer weather as well.

Ohh, I have never had butter chicken but I want to try it now. I LOVE Indian and Thai food, my go to thai dish is always veggie pad thai, I am a sucker for it!

Pad Thai is so good too! I haven’t had it in awhile, I should fix that soon.

Yum, I adore Indian food! My favorite dish is Palak Paneer – I love spinach and cheese. I’ve never tried making it but maybe one of these days :)

The curry dish looks delicious. I just started eating Indian food and OMG I love it!!! I think I was afraid of curry before but now I can’t get enough of it. We have a wonderful Indian restaurant close to us and man I’m craving some now.

I don’t eat enough Indian or Thai dishes to have a favorite! Although, I do know that I love the dishes when I do eat them – they are always so flavorful and spicy. I have no idea what butter chicken is, but the name sounds delicious so I think I have to try it!

I do enjoy butter chicken, we make it in a dutch oven, very tasty:) Honestly, I don’t eat much Indian or Thai food, I am seriously the worlds pickiest eater:)

I’m not a big fan of Indian food but I do love Thai. My favorite is cashew chicken, but your butter chicken looks fab too. I may have to try that next! =)

I love butter chicken, but have never tried to make it myself. I’m also a curry buff and love to make a crock pot of vegetables and chicken in curry sauce so it lasts over several meals. Either yellow curry powder and coconut milk or S&B curry makes an amazing meal.

Why hello, meal twin!! I just had some Thai vegetable curry too, and finished off the butter chicken I’d mind earlier this week! <3 Leftovers definitely make my world go round! My favorite Thai dish would have to be yellow curry (but I love pad thai + pineapple fried rice too!). Cannottt decide on a favorite Indian dish, but butter chicken is definitely up there! <3

I am so envious of people that can eat leftovers for lunch. I just have such a hard time with it. Thank goodness my husband loves leftovers so we don’t have any waste. Oh, and anything Thai or Indian makes me happy!! YUM!

I just recently tried Indian food for the first time! It was OMG amazing. I have no idea what took me so long I love Thai, Vietnamese, Japanese literally every other type of Asian cuisine but somehow I missed Indian. Now I want to try cooking it at home.

First of all, I totally remember that scene from Sex and the City. Hilarious.

I bought this little crock pot for $20. It basically holds one serving, and doesn’t get hot enough to cook anything. However, I can pack my leftovers and heat them up at my desk and it’s fantastic. All my coworkers are jealous!

I LOVE Thai and Indian food. Favourite Thai food: Yellow Curry; Pad Siew (with the thick rice noodles); fried basil rice. Favourite Indian food: saag paneer (spinach curry with fried cheese); pretty much any vegetarian curry; pakoras!

    Thanks for sharing! #growyourblog

Hard to choose! Chicken Tikka Masala is probably my fave but I love a good curry. Did you make the Butter Chicken? Is it hard? Just re-read – bad recipe. Bummer. Do you have a good one?

I love Thai chicken with baby corn and also coconut soup. I have only had Indian food a couple of times so I really don’t have a favorite there yet. I will have to go to a restaurant and try the butter chicken. I usually love anything with butter in it. :)

I love leftovers too! Sometimes I can’t wait until lunch and I eat them for breakfast :) I love Thai food, especially Tom Kha soup. I made for the first time a few weeks ago and while it was time consuming, it came out great. But I think I’ll stick to buying it :)
