Weekly Workouts 2

I was really feeling the workouts this week for some reason. I was looking forward to all of them. Sometimes it takes some motivation in the mornings before I can talk myself into doing them, but that wasn’t the case this week. I was actually excited and looking forward to all of them.

Sunday, February 1st, 2015 I decided to start off the week with a Barre 3 online workouts. I went with Interval Strength, which was a great 45 minute workout. I feel like I got to work both my upper and lower body, which was nice.

Monday, February 2nd, 2015 Monday was a rest day, which I enjoyed. Having days off reminds me of how hard I work on the days I workout.

Tuesday, February 3rd, 2015 This was another rest day as I had to be at work at 5 am. There’s no way I’m getting up early than my usual 3:45 am to get in a workout. By the time I get home I’m usually pretty tired, so doing a workout afterwards wasn’t going to happen either.

Walk in Bowmont February 4 2015

Wednesday, February 4, 2015 I decided to take advantage of a warm and sunny day and went for a walk in my favourite park. There weren’t many people out, so it almost felt like I had the park all to myself. I ended up going through a valley, which meant that I went up a big hill on the way out as well as the way in. I was huffing and puffing by the time I got to the top on both sides, but at the same time it felt good to work hard.

Thursday, February 5, 2015 Since I’m doing the Winter Shape Up from Gina and Anne, I thought I’d do one of their workouts. Here’s a link to the barre workout from Gina. I really liked that she gave lots of modifications for easier moves or those with injuries. I love it when people make fitness accessible. Even though it was only 30 mintues long my legs were shaking by the time I was done.

Friday, February 6, 2015 Yesterday’s workout was from Jillian Michaels. I decided on her Body Revolution Phase 1: Ignite DVD (affiliate link) because the workouts seemed pretty quick (they were all between 25 and 35 minutes). I did workout 1 and worked harder than usual. For some reason she was more motivating than usual for me. The workout involved a lot of squats and shoulder and tricep work. I’d definitely feeling that today, as my arms are sore.

Saturday, February 7, 2015 After two tough workouts in a row I thought that it would be a good idea to take another rest day today. I have plans for a workout tomorrow, so I’ll be rested and give it my all.

Do you like to mix it up with different workouts like I did this week or do you like to stick to one or two different types?

I really enjoy when workouts are 30 minutes or less. It helps me feel as though I can set aside 1 hour to workout +shower and not have it really kill too much of my time.

Yeah, it’s not just the actual workout time, but also getting there (if I’m leaving the house) and showering afterwards that all takes up time.

I like to switch my workouts up too. I also really like doing barre workouts as well! Thanks for the links!

Barre workouts are great. I like that they’re easy on my joints and low impact.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who changes things up.

I have definitely learned that I like to switch it up a lot on my crosstraining days. That’s why I love Orangetheory because it’s a different workout every day!

I was doing some crosstraining things a few months ago but need to try and get back to that. I just enjoy running so much that I’m not always interested in doing something different! :–)

I know what you mean about enjoying one thing a lot. For awhile I was only doing yoga.

I have to commend you on your early rising time. I am pretty fussy at any time earlier than 6 or so 3:45 sounds fairly torturous. I find myself getting into periods of doing the same workout over and over. I may increase weight or intensity, but sometimes I just get stuck in a pattern. Changing things up is a much better way to see results though.

Haha, if I didn’t have to be at work so early, I would be up at 3:45 either! It’s easy to get stuck in a pattern when it comes to workouts. I’ve been known to do that, but lately it seems like I’m constantly doing something different.

Hiking is the best! I can’t wait til the summer when I can get back into the mountains.

You had a great week! I mix up my workouts but there is always usually running, spinning and strength training every week!

That sounds like a great combination. I have yet to try a spin class, but I think it would be a lot of fun. I should make sure I do that sooner rather than later.

This is great! I love seeing workouts other people are doing. It gives me added motivation and new ideas!

I’m not very creative with my workouts so I love seeing what other people are up to too.

I’m really enjoying the workout plan I’m on at the moment.
That being said who doesn’t like to mix things up every now and then. Sometimes you have to try something new to appreciate what you are fully capable or not capable of doing.

Yes! It’s always a nice surprise when I try a workout I remember being tough in the past, but this time it feels easier.
