January Recap and February Goals February 2 2015

Seriously, how is it already February? It feels like Christmas was just a week or two ago. Time has been flying by lately. While that’s not always a good thing, it also means that spring is getting closer and closer. I can’t wait until the cold and snow are gone until next winter.

January Recap

I thought before I write about what I want to accomplish in February I’d highlight a few of my favourite posts from the last month.

Have you noticed more workout reviews on Get Fit Fiona? I’ve decided I want to post them more regularly, so expect them to be once a week from now on like they were in January. I know I always like to hear how people like particular workouts, so I thought others would too. My favourite ones from January were Jillian Michaels Hard Body and Cassey Ho’s Pop Pilates.

I only posted one recipe for in January, and that was my favourite sugar cookie recipe from Martha Stewart. I usually make them a couple times a year, and always at Christmas. Sometimes it’s kind of nice to have a basic cookie that you know you like in your baking arsenal.

I also shared my favourite skincare products. I have sensitive skin and live in a dry climate, so I’m happy to say that I’ve finally found a combination of products that work for me. They don’t irritate my skin and also keep my skin feeling moisturized.

February Goals

Go to bed earlier. I used to be really good about being in bed with the light off by ten. I’m one of those people who needs 8 hours of sleep or else I’m pretty grumpy the next day. For my own sanity and those around me I try to make sure I get enough sleep. I think it was maybe getting out of my routine over the holidays, but ever since Christmas I’ve been staying up later. This month I want to get back on track and be in bed by ten again.

Stop looking at my phone first thing in the morning. I’ve gotten into the habit of looking at my phone as soon as I wake up in the morning. I don’t want to do that anymore, so in February I want to break that habit. It’s easy to get lost in email or Twitter before I’m even fully awake. I don’t want to waste that time.

Get in four workouts each week. I was able to do four workouts for most of January. I only missed one week where I did three. I want to make getting in four workouts a habit, and then move up to five workouts per week again in March. I used to do five without even thinking about it. Getting back to that point has been harder than I thought it would. Hopefully by the end of February I’ll be one step closer though.

Know that you know my goals for February, leave me a comment with something that you want to accomplish this month.

I love your goal about not looking at your phone first thing. I’m guilty of doing the same and should really break the habit.

One of my February goals is to do an extra core work session each week. Gotta have tight abs for spring and summer :)

I need to work on my core too. It’s such a vital part of my body, I know I use it more than I think I do. It would probably help with just about every workout I do as well. Good luck on achieving your goal!

Thanks for the kind words about the workout reviews. It’s amazing how yoga makes you aware of muscles you didn’t even know you had! One of my first classes I could hardly move my arms the next day.

I love your February goals, they are definitely all areas I could use some cleaning up!
My main goal this month is not to skip any training workouts. 3 days in and so far I’m doing good!

These are some great goals! I’m also trying to break the bad habit of looking at my phone first thing in the morning! I use it as my alarm clock so it’s right there…think I need to find a substitution habit that’s better for me!

I can relate, it’s been tough so far, but I’ve been able to avoid it.
