Sunday January 25, 2015 A few months ago I printed out some workouts that I had pinned on my workout board on Pinterest. I didn’t have a workout planned like I usually do, so I decided to use one of the pinned workouts. I decided on this high intensity interval circuit that Courtney from Sweet Tooth Sweet Life made. I don’t think I had done it before, but I was impressed. The day or two after I could definitely feel all the squats I had done. I went through the circuit twice for a total of 25 minutes. It felt like it went by really quick. You can’t go wrong with quick workouts.
Wednesday January 28, 2015 I’ve joined Gina and Anne’s Winter Shape Up, so I did my first workout from that challenge. I have to say that if the first workout is any indication, I’m in for some tough workouts. I decided to skip the tabata part and instead just do the strength portion (you can find the workout here). I went through the circuit three times. I was incredibly sweaty by the time I was done even though it only took fifteen minutes to complete.
Thursday January 29, 2015 I decided to get in a barre 3 workout, so I went with a 30 minute online one called No Props. I really liked it, and felt like it was a great workout even though I didn’t use any weights. There was also no floor work – it was all standing. I can see that being useful if you’re on a hard floor and you don’t have a yoga mat to use. There were also modifications included to make each move easier or harder.
Friday January 30, 2015 I decided to end the week doing another Winter Shape Up workout. I did workout two (you can find it here). Even though it was only twenty minutes long I was pretty sweaty and tired by the time I was done. I love workouts that are short but still get me moving enough to feel like I did a good workout. I ended up playing the video and doing that workout, which is apparently a little different than the workout in the graphic that Gina has posted. The video was awesome as she also showed low impact modifications. I thought that was great for people who are recovering from injuries or people who are new to fitness.
Leave me a comment with your toughest workout this week.
My toughest workout this week was today when I did a two hour hike! It got my heart rate way up! :) have a lovely weekend!
Hikes are the best, especially when they involve going uphill. I can’t wait til this summer when I can do some hikes too.
I am all about quick, but intense workouts lately!
You really can’t go wrong with them. It makes it easier for me to get them in if I know it’ll take under an hour.
