Weekly Workouts 2

Sunday January 11 I did the last workout (level 4) of Ripped in 30 (affiliate link) by Jillian Michaels. It just about killed me it was so tough. Let’s just say that she pulls out all the stops and goes hard-core in this one. I was very thankful that the next day was a rest day cause I was pretty sore, not only in my legs from the squats (which went on forever), but also in my arms and shoulders from the chest fly’s. If you want a crazy intense workout, this is the one for you! Expect my review of Ripped in 30 in the next week or two once I write down my thoughts about it.

Tuesday January 13 I decided on a Barre 3 workout, specifically the Anywhere workout. I was still sore from my workout on Sunday so I did it without any weights. Needless to say I still got in a pretty good workout in the 40 minutes. It was nice to know that you can get in a decent workout with no equipment (I was on a carpeted floor – if you’re on a hard surface I’d recommend a yoga mat).

Wednesday January 14 I started a new Jillian Michaels DVD today thanks to Hoopla (you can sign up for it through your library if they participate in it). I did the first workout on Beginner Shred. While it was directed towards people who are new to fitness, I got in a great workout and was sweaty by the end of the 25 minutes. Because it was for beginners Jillian focussed a lot on getting the correct form, which was kind of nice. I also liked that it was only fairly short, perfect if you don’t have a lot of time to devote to a workout. I can see myself doing this DVD when I want to get back to basics.

Friday January 16 This workout was the second one on Jillian Michaels Beginner Shred (affiliate link). It was a step up from the first one on this DVD, but still focussed a lot on form and correct posture. Even though it’s aimed at beginners I managed to get in a great 25 minute workout. By the end of it I was out of breath.

Leave me a comment telling me about your workouts this week.

Looks like great workouts! Way to work hard! Sometimes it’s so difficult to stay motivated through the winter months.

I agree, I usually try to do at least a couple workouts outside during the summer (hikes, walks, yoga in the backyard). Right now I’m really missing being outdoors!
