WIAW 2015

Thanks as always to Jen at Peas and Crayons for hosting What I Ate Wednesday every week.

WIAW Breakfast January 14 2015

Breakfast was a little different from my usual. I decided on a bagel with a little margarine, cherry yogurt, and an orange (unpictured). I wasn’t feeling my usual cereal since it was such a cold day and went with a warm toasted bagel instead. I almost always have yogurt with my breakfast because it’s usually my only source of protein in the morning. I usually try to make something quick and easy cause I’m trying to get out of the house quick to go to school or work.

WIAW Lunch January 14 2015

While I was at the grocery store earlier in the day I found a broccoli and cheese soup. It sounded delicious so I thought I’d give it a try for lunch. It ended up being so good! I jsut had to heat it up on the stove so it was a pretty quick and easy meal too. I’m glad I tried it. I’d definitely get it again. I can’t remember the brand name, but the next time I’m at the grocery store I’ll look for it to report back what it’s called. I paired the soup with a piece of rye bread and an (unpictured) apple.

WIAW Dinner January 14 2015

Dinner was a chicken and veggie wrap in an ancient grain tortilla. I had leftover chicken in the fridge so I just had to microwave it and add the tomatoes, carrots, and spinach. I added some oh so good honey mustard to top it off. I don’t know if it’s because it’s winter or the holidays have just passed, but I’ve been craving a lot of vegetables lately. This wrap definitely helped with that craving.

What have you been craving lately?

Good foods! The weather is cold so I CRAVE all things grains – I want toffee nut cookies and cinnamon rolls – and all things HOT – I want chili and baked potatoes smothered in cheese. Needless to say my eats are not super healthy right now. ;-)

I know what you mean, it’s easy to go crazy with the comfort food when it’s cold and snowy outside.

It was pretty good. I try to get in as many veggies as I can into sandwiches and wraps.
