Weekly Workouts 2

I’m kind of glad the holidays are over because I’m finally starting to feel like I’m getting back on track. I’m glad I ended 2014 and started off 2015 in a good place when it comes to my workouts. I got in three tough workouts this week.

Sunday December 28 I decided on Barre 3’s Ballet Body online workout. I’ve really been enjoying the videos, and this one was no different. Although it was a total body workout I must have been working my lower body harder than usual, because by the time I could feel the burn in my thighs and butt. I really like the Barre 3 workouts are so gentle and low impact – it doesn’t flare up the plantar fasciitis in my left foot like some other workouts do. I know I keep saying this, but at the end of my Barre 3 workouts I’m always surprised at how small movements can make my arms and legs feel like jello.

Wednesday December 31st I have access to Hoopla through my local library so I can “borrow” movies online for 72 hours. I was pretty excited when I found the fitness section, as there’s a bunch of titles that I’ve been wanting to try. If your library subscribes to it, I definitely think it’s worth checking out.

I decided to go with Jillian Michaels workouts for the rest of the week. On Wednesday I did the first workout from Jillian Michaels Hard Body (affiliate link). Within a few minutes I was sweaty and breathing hard, so I knew I was in for a tough workout. Even though I was working hard the 45 minutes didn’t seem that long. That’s not to say I wasn’t relieved when it was over though.

Friday January 2nd Yesterday’s workout was my first for 2015, and it kicked my butt. I did the second workout on the Hard Body DVD and it was even tougher than the first. Jillian does a lot of moves that work more than one body part. While I appreciate getting a better workout in faster than doing one muscle at a time, it just adds to the intensity. It was a very sweaty 50 minutes, but just like the first workout on Hard Body, the time flew by. Probably cause I was too busy trying to keep up.

I’ll be posting a review of Hard Body in the next couple weeks, so be on the look out for it.

What are some of your favourite fitness DVD’s?
