Today’s my birthday. I don’t know how that’s possible though, cause it feels like I just had my last one a couple months ago. This last year has gone by really fast.
Wasn’t I a cute kid back in the day? That’s me on Christmas morning playing with a new dollhouse my dad made for me. Notice the My Little Pony in my hand and the Cabbage Patch Kid with the red hair on the floor? I was such an 80’s kid.
Tuesday night I got together with some good friends for my birthday. We had dinner at Joey Chinook. I got the chicken souvlaki wrap that was pretty good. Afterwards saw Gone Girl. I’d heard some really good things about it, but I didn’t like the ending. Tell me I’m not the only one who was disappointed with it.
Yesterday I made my birthday cake. It was a pretty simple yellow cake with chocolate frosting. I’m not going to lie, it was tough to resist cutting a piece last night and trying it. For the record I’m only planning to put one candle on per decade. Otherwise I would burn down the house.
Today I’m going out for lunch with my family (somehow we managed to find a time for all of us to get together) at my favourite Indian restaurant. You can’t go wrong with birthday papadums and samosas.
My dad wrapped my gifts. Two of them are in paper bags, and the third one is in packing paper with stickers on it. He always finds creative ways to wrap gifts. One Christmas I got a gift in a duffel bag, and another year in a pillow case. It’s a good thing I do 90% of the gift wrapping at Christmas.
Do you have any birthday traditions that you do every year?
Happy birthday! Hope you have a wonderful day :)
Thanks! It was a pretty great day.
