I’m pretty excited that it’s Friday. It’s been a busy week, and I’ve been up since 4:30 (thanks brain for not being able to go back to sleep).
This breakfast happened this week. While I couldn’t eat it all (it was a lot of food), it was delicious. My favourite was probably the crepe and strawberries. Yum!
Speaking of breakfast, this morning I went to the Social Media Breakfast here in Calgary. Once a month they provide breakfast and line up a speaker to talk about something related to social media. I’ve been to two so far and I’ve found them both really interesting. If you’re in Calgary sign up for updates on the SMByyc site to find out the details for the next one in September.
If you follow soccer at all you know that the U20 Women’s World Cup is being played right now. Although Canada was eliminated in the quarterfinals, I’m still pretty excited about seeing so many up and coming soccer stars. I know I’ll be hearing about some of these players later on. There’s a lot of talent out there. The final game is being played in Montreal on Sunday. Nigeria and Germany will be playing for the top spot. I can’t wait to watch the game – it should be a good one.
I decided to try this beer. I’d never heard of it before, but I thought the cherry in a beer sounded in intriguing. Well it turned out to be freaking delicious! I’ll definitely be getting this one again. According to the Samuel Smith website they also have strawberry, apricot, and raspberry flavours. They sound just as good as the cherry one.
I’m currently in the middle of this book – Body of Work by Pamela Slim. It’s a pretty interesting read so far. Pamela talks about how the landscape of work and careers has changed over the last few years, and how to adapt with those changes. I’m going to a book club about it in a few weeks, so I’m interested to hear other people’s thoughts on it. I’m actually thinking of doing a blog post about it. Let me know if you’d want to read my thoughts on it.
Now that you know what I’ve been up to this week, tell me something about your week.
