Thanks once again to Jen for hosting WIAW.
I’ve been making hot breakfasts more often lately, and this one was no different. I cooked up 2 eggs and 2 pieces of bacon. I had some strawberries on the side. Since they’re in season right now they taste so good!
Lunch was some leftover tacos. With a tortilla base, there was taco meat, olives, tomato, cheese, and salsa. Apparently most people don’t put olives on their tacos and it’s just a family thing. It might sound weird, but tacos taste 100% better with them. Give it a try next time you make them.
Dinner was a white pizza and (an unpictured) salad. The pizza doesn’t had any sauce or mozzarella cheese. Instead it starts with some olive oil, I add some spices (I like Italian seasonings and garlic, but everyone in my family seems to have their own combination they like best), and then finish with some parmesan cheese.
Does your family have any “specialties” they make that’s different from what most people eat?
That pizza looks divine!
My family has very few oddball specialties. I’d say the weirdest one is biscochitos, which is a New Mexican Christmas cookie. Pretty common in NM but since I grew up in rural Alabama, it’s unheard of there.
I just googled biscochitos and they look delicious! I think I might have to try making them.
My dad has so many amazing specialties he cooks up, MMMMM, he is a magician in the kitchen for sure! This salmon baked with clam sauce recipe gets me SOOOOOO excited to go home! Food is love! AHH HA HA!
When I was in university I always got excited when my dad would make his spaghetti and meatballs when I was at home.
