As I mentioned yesterday, I spend part of yesterday morning in Bowmont park. Just as we got into the park a train went across the bridge. It’s always surprising how loud it is.
There were lots of dogs in the water today. I think even they think it’s been hot lately.
Everything looks so lush and green right now. I’m going to miss it once the winter gets here.
This fence on the ground was damaged during the flood last year. It’s amazing to think the water was powerful enough to take out a fence.
We found another reminder of the flood on this tree. The debris is about 6 feet up on that tree. The water would have been over my head!
At times it’s hard to believe that you’re still in the city.
The water was really clear once we got down to the riverside.
Even though it was a sunny warm day the water was pretty cold still.
Notice how the trees and bushes are slanting to the right? It’s another effect of the flood a year later.
Father/daughter selfie by the river.
This was path was the last part of our walk before we decided to head back to the car.
It leads to this little pond which eventually flowsthe Bow River. It’s probably one of my favourite spots in Bowmont cause it’s so pretty and there’s hardly ever any other people around.
