I was finally able to plant the seedlings outside! I think they’re much happier outside with lots of sunlight. It’s so nice to see green in the garden. If you’re interested, click here to see how I started the seeds indoors.
Those are runner beans at the top of the photo. When they bloom they’re going to be gorgeous. Below the beans are tomatoes. I have several different types, both full size and cherry tomatoes.
At the top are peas. I had really good luck with them last year, so I’m hoping they’ll turn out just as good this year. Below the peas are zucchinis. They did pretty well last year too, so it was a no brainer to plant them again. I also decided to try some butternut squash. They’re along the bottom. This is my first time trying to grow them, so we’ll see how they do.
This part of the garden is where I planted the seeds – all of which are greens. I went with arugula, romaine, leaf lettuce, and a lettuce mix. These photos are from earlier this week, and I’m happy to say that all the seeds have germinated already. I can’t wait until they’re big enough to make a salad with.
Although these aren’t in the vegetable garden, I had to share the forget me nots. They’re so beautiful (and bluer in person than in the photo). I can’t help but smile when I see them – they’re just so cheerful.
I thought these flowers were really pretty too. It’s such a treat to see green outside after such a long winter, let alone flowers blooming.
