It’s been an incredibly busy couple of weeks around here, hence the lack of posting. Sorry about that. Now that things have calmed down I’m hoping to get back into the swing of things when it comes to blogging.

Two Fridays ago I took my last chemistry unit test. I scheduled myself a week to study for the final, which my teacher said would give me plenty of time to be really prepared to write the final on Friday.

Unfortunately last weekend I got food poisoning. I’ve definitely had an upset stomach before, but this was so much worse. I’ve never felt that sick in my life. I spent most of Sunday night in the bathroom. Luckily after 12 hours I stopped throwing up (so thankful it didn’t last longer), but I was still pretty sick. It was another day or two before I could eat food (yay for crackers and rice).

It’s really hard to study when you feel like crap, so I didn’t get as much studying done as I had planned on. I tried to tell myself I knew what I was doing when I went into my final, but it was tough to keep that confidence once I started the final. There were twice as many questions as on the unit tests, but I only had an additional half hour to take it. Needless to say I had to keep an eye on the clock to make sure I left myself enough time to finish – which I did, with just 2 minutes left to spare. If I had more time I would have gone back to double check a few questions, but I had to leave it and just go with my first instinct.

Chem Final Heineken February 2 2014

On my way home on Friday I stopped at the liquor store and bought myself some of my favourite beer. I needed a little something to reward myself for the 5 months of work that I’ve put into this chem class.  It’s been two days now since I finished and I keep thinking that I should go do some homework or get some reading done. It’s very weird to not have any of that stuff to do at the moment.

I’m looking forward to just having to work this coming week. Hopefully the week after I’ll be starting my next chem class.
