Well, we almost had Thanksgiving this weekend. A family member ended up in the hospital, so instead of eating turkey we spent time at the hospital instead. Thankfully it’s not too serious and she’ll be able to go home either today or tomorrow. Thanksgiving dinner probably be moved to this weekend, so we’ll still be able to have the turkey, stuffing, and cranberry sauce.
One of my favourite memories of Thanksgiving as a kid was watching A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving (fast forward to 8:00 for my favourite part). I had totally convinced my 5 or 6 year old self that I could make a turkey dinner for everyone in the family.
If you’re in the Calgary area and interested in taking part in a soccer marathon for cancer, check out the 30 Hour Soccer Marathon for Cancer. I believe there’s still time to sign up to play as a team or individual, as well as volunteer at the event or donate.
I also wanted to mention a Canadian blogger Christmas swap. Essentially you sign up to sent a Christmas ornament to another Canadian blogger, and show off your ornament on your blog when you receive it. Head over to Leigh’s blog to sign up. I’ve signed up for it – it looks like fun!
Do you have a favourite Charlie Brown holiday movie (It’s a Charlie Brown Thanksgiving, It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown, or A Charlie Brown Christmas)? Mine is probably a Charlie Brown Christmas.
Thanks for posting about the Christmas swap! Sorry to hear about your family member…glad they will be ok though :)
