Bowmont Walk May 8 2013 (2)

Thursday afternoon was a beautiful day, so I decided to go for a walk in my favourite park. I had to do something outside to take advantage of the gorgeous weather.

The river was flowing pretty fast. There were quite a few dogs in the water enjoying the nice day too. There were lots of wet paw prints along the paths.

When the snow in the mountains melts this area by the river gets flooded. Last year there was so much flooding I couldn’t get anywhere near this spot.

This has to be one of my favourite bridges in the park. It’s out of the way, so I hardly ever see people here. It looks like it belongs in a fairy take to me.

I heard something on the ground next to the path, so I stopped to see what it was. After a couple seconds I spotted a snake. This is the second snake I’ve seen this spring. Can you see him in the photo? He’s mostly on the left side in the middle.

Is that Bowness? I’ve never seen that wooden bridge before or that boardwalk. I must go exploring!

Ugh snakes! That looks like a decent size one too!

The boardwalk is on the Bowness side of Bowmont. The wooden bridge is on the other side of the river, on the opposite side of the 85th Street bridge from Bowness Park. Hopefully that makes sense, I’m horrible at describing where things are!
