Boston Marathon April 16 2013

Usually I have posts written and ready to go a day or two before they’re posted each morning. But I didn’t have a post scheduled for today. That’s very unlike me, but I think there was a reason I didn’t have one. I was supposed to write this post.

By now I’m sure everyone has heard about what happened at the Boston marathon yesterday. People were killed and many others were hurt. I can’t imagine what it was like to be there, in the middle of the chaos and confusion. I have a couple friends who live in Boston and I’m glad to hear that they’re all safe and sound.

As horrible as the events were yesterday, there’s something you can do. Commit to do something for someone else. Counteract the fear and destruction of the bombings and be generous with your time and/or money. Volunteer with an upcoming race, donate blood locally, volunteer with an organization that means something to you, search out a new-to-you charity and make a donation.
